Abstract: Laser ablation ICP-MS was applied in glass products quality control. Content of trace elements in glass were all higher than detection limits. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of NIST612 standard sample,giving values of relative error less than 10%. Glass samples and tiny defect points in glass samples were analyzed by laser ablation ICP-MS to compare the differences between the above two,investigate the reasons for the formation of the defect points and provide a direction to improve glass product quality. The component differences between glass and defect points showed that the formation of the defect points had a great relationship with raw materials or lower temperature used during glass preparation.
