Abstract: The basic concept and principle of stable isotope analysis of human hair, the characteristics of stable isotope composition in diet and drinking water and their relationship with the stable isotope composition of human hair were introduced, and the application of stable isotope analysis techniques of human hair in fields of nutrition, archaeology and forensic science was reviewed. Research progress and existing shortcomings were discussed on related domestic and foreign researches, and the future research direction was prospected (73 ref. cited).
