Abstract: A review on the principle and characteristic of pyrolysis and GC was presented, prospecting especially for the application of Py-GC-MS to the field of tobacco chemistry, such as the analysis of chemical composition of tobacco monomers, tobacco, essence and perfumes, tobacco accessory materials, as well as the optimized experimental conditions (55 ref. cited).
