Abstract: Microwave technique was applied to the analysis of molybdenum concentrate in 2 aspects:① sample digestion and ignition of PbMoO4 in the gravimetric determination of molybdenum;and ② drying of sample in the determination of total oil and moisture.Optimum working power of the microwave oven and time necessary to carry out the above mentioned processes were tested and determined.Comparative studies were made between the results obtained by this modified method and by the GB standard methods and no significant differences were found.But the speed of sample digestion,precipitate ignition and sample drying were raised by 10,4 and 6 times higher than the conventional methods.
