Abstract: In the method of separation of taxol and cephalomannine by thin layer chromatography,a solution containing n-hexane,dichloromethane,methanol and triethylamine (mixed in the ratio of 4.5∶3.5∶0.5∶1.0) was used as developing solvent (mobile phase) and the silica gel thin layer plate was used as the stationary phase.By using the modified mobile phase,taxol and cephalomannine were separated satisfactorily,the spots were separated clearly,sharply and without trailing.
