Abstract: Fluorospectrophotometry was applied to the determination of fluorescent whitening agent VBL in paper. The sample was desorbed in water of pH 8,then extracted for 120 s with microwave assistant. Linear relationship between values of fluorescence intensity and mass concentration of VBL was kept in the range within 2.00 mg·L-1,with detection limit (3s/k) of 0.001 mg·L-1. On the base of worksheet sample of student,test for recovery was made by standard addition method,with values of recovery found in the range of 84.7%-94.9%. Precision of the method was tested with paper sample for 5 determination,value of RSD found was 3.4%.
