Abstract: A review on the recent advances of the application of pyrolysis-gas chromatography to the analysis of explosives was given in this paper,relating especially in the following respects: qualitative and quantitative analysis,mechanism of thermal decomposition,relationship between the pyrolytic properties and the structural compositions of the explosives,as well as the new techniques for use in pyrolysis-GC.Suggestions of future prospects on this subject were also proposed (19 ref.cited).
