Abstract: The content of dibutyl phthalate in white spirit was determined by gas chromatography. The sample was extracted with n-hexane. OV-17 column was used for separation, and FID was used for determination, using acetophenone as internal standard. Linear relationship between values of mass concentration and peak area of dibutyl phthalate was kept in the range within 10 mg·L-1, with value of detection limit (3s/k) 0.003 mg·kg-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of sample of white spirit, giving values of recovery in the range of 98.0%-101%, with RSD (n=6) of 4.0%.
