Abstract: A review on the progress of GC-ICP-MS applied to speciation analysis was presented covering mainly the years from 1987 to 2009,and pertaining especially to the topics on the design of hyphenation interface,kinds of GC,methods of sample preparation,as well as on the techniques of mass spectrometry in hyphenation of GC and ICP-MS.A brief discussion on the future prospects in this field was also given (61 ref.cited).
