Abstract: A HPLC method for the determination of mannitol in cordyceps sinensis was proposed in this paper.The dried sample was ground with granular graphite carbon black and packed in the column.Mannitol in the mixed solid phase was eluted with hot water and determined by HPLC.The chromatographic separation was carried out on a Waters Sugar-Pak 1 cation exchange column with water as mobile phase.A evaporation light scattering detector was used for detection.Detection limit (3S/N) of the method was 0.15 mg·L-1.The method has been applied to the determination of mannitol in cordyceps sinensis samples giving values of recovery in the range from 97% to 103%,and values of RSD′s (n=7) less than 1.5%.
