Abstract: To avoid the use of mercuric acetate in the non-aqueous titrimetric method,potentiometric titrimetry was applied to the determination of total alkaloids in the eye drops named “Jinshile Diyanye”.Standard sodium hydroxide solution was used as titrant.End point of titration was determined by the 1st derivative of titration curve.Accuracy and precision of the method were improved by the addition of ethanol,and were better than that of the non-aqueous titration method.
