Abstract
A novel method of GC-MS coupled with dynamic microwave assisted headspace solid-phase microextraction was proposed for the determination of volatile and semi volatile chemical composition of celery leaves. The spearation method steam distillation, headspace solid-phase microextraction, microwave assisted headspace solid-phase microextraction and dynamic microwave assisted headspace solid-phase microextraction were compared. 20,17,36 and 41 compounds were identified respectively. The main volatile components were: α-Myrcene,Limonene,β-cis-Ocimene,β-Selinene and (Z)-Hex-3-en-1-ol. The method was demonstrated to be simple, rapid, easy to operate and consumes small amounts of plant materials. Comparing with static microwave assisted headspace solid-phase microextraction,it offers higher extraction efficiency for low-volatile compounds. The proposed method can also be used to the analysis of volatile and semi volatile constituents from other plants.
