    Identification of Products in the Hydrogenation of Di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate by GC-MS

    • GC-MS was used for the analysis of hydrogenation reaction products of Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate. The reaction products were separated on a HP-5MS capillary column and detected by MS. Ten compounds were identified by analyzing the mass spectra. The fragmentation mechanism of diisooctyl 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylate was postulated,and possible side reactions of the hydrogenation process of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate were proposed.
