Abstract
An IC method was developed for the determination of ammonia in electronic tobacco liquid. The sample was extracted in 10 mol·L-1 hydrochloric acid solution for 10 min and then separated on a Dionex IonPac CS16A cation exchange column with MSA as the eluent for gradient elution. Electrochemical detector was used for detection. The linear relationship was found between the peak area and the mass concentration of ammonia was in the range of 0.05-1.0 mg·L-1,with detection limit (3S/N) of 0.035 μg·g-1 and the lower limit of determination (10S/N) of 0.12 μg·g-1. The method was used to analyze 12 brands of electronic tobacco liquid, giving recovery rates measured by standard addition method in the range of 93.2%-106% with RSD (n=5) less than 4%.
