    ICP-MS Determination of Fe,Si,Cu,Mn,Mg,Ti,Zn,Cr and Ni in Pure Aluminum and Its Wire with Laser Ablation

    • ICP-MS was applied to the determination of iron,silicon,copper,manganese,magnesium,titanium,zinc,chromium and nickel in pure aluminum and its wire with laser ablation. In low RF power plasma mode,27Al was used as internal standard. Element signals were not relation with diameter of samples in diameter from 0.5 mm to 3 mm. Fractionation factors of all elements were between 0.94 and 1.13,so there was no fractionation effect. Matrix effect of pure aluminum and aluminum alloy was not obvious,and cast aluminum could affect matrix effect. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of bulk and wire CRMs,giving results in consistency with the certified value. A pure aluminum plate was analyzed with the method and direct-reading spark spectrometry,their results were agreement. Values of RSD′s (n=5) found were in the range of 2.9%-32%,due to background interferences.
