    GC-MS Determination of 8 Volatile Phenols in Air

    • A method of GC-MS for the determination of 8 volatile phenols in air was proposed.The air sample was collected with silica adsorption tube,and desorbed by rinsing with acetone.HP-VOC chromatographic column was used for GC separation and selected ion monitoring mode was adopted in MS determination.Internal standard method was used for quantification.Linearity ranges of the 8 volatile phenols were found same between 0.20-10.0 mg·L-1 with detection limits in the range of 1.5-5.2 μg·m-3.On the base of blank sample,test for recovery was made by standard addition method,values of recovery found were in the range of 80.4%-86.7%,with RSD′s (n=5) in the range of 1.7%-3.9%.
