Abstract
GC with chloridion attachment chemical ionization in hyphenation with low resolution MS was applied to the determination of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP). Vapour over a mixed solvent of n-hexane and dichloromethane, which was used as the reagent gas, was introduced directly into the ion-source through a capillary chromatographic column. Values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 84.9%-95.4%, and RSD′s in the range of 15%-18%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of some substantial samples. As compared with the carbon skeleton method, values of relative errors found were ranged from 3.67% to 7.69% for samples with low mMCCP/mSCCP ratios, and was 77.9% for samples with high mMCCP/mSCCP ratios.
