Abstract
A method of ICP-MS was developed for the determination of trace Arsenic in tobacco. The sample was pretreated by microwave digestion in a mixture of nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide. The 75As16O+ was measured by ICP-MS using a dynamic reaction cell mode with oxygen as the reaction gas. Then the content of arsenic in the sample was quantified. The linearity range of the mass concentration of arsenic was below 20 μg·L-1 with the detection limit of 39 ng·L-1. The method was used to measure arsenic in tobacco, giving recovery rates in the range of 95.3%-105% and RSD (n=7) less than 5.0%.
