    ICP-MS Simultaneous Determination of 6 Heavy Metal Elements in Wooden Furniture with Microwave Digestion

    • ICP-MS was applied to the simultaneous determination of 6 heavy metal elements, i.e. Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr, As and Hg in wooden furniture with microwave digestion. The sample of wooden furniture was digested with a mixture of HNO3 and H2O2 by microwave assisted digestion. The interferences of the matrix elements were eliminated by internal standard. Linear relationships between values of spectral intensity and mass concentration of the 6 heavy metal elements were kept in definite ranges. Detection limits (3s) found were in the range of 0.003-0.080 μg·L-1. Values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 95.1%-106%, and values of RSD′s (n=7) less than 3.0%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of a standard material of bush leave (GBW 07602), giving results in agreement with the certified values.
