Electrochemically Modified SPME Coating for Determination of Aromatic Amines in Textiles by GC-MS

    • A novel p-sulfanilic acid-polyaniline (ABSA-PANI) film coated on steel wire (SS) was prepared by electrochemical deposition. The scanning electron microscopy images showed that the porous polyaniline (PANI) coating, doped by ABSA, displayed homogeneous structure and larger surface area than pure PANI coating. Extraction properties of the ABSA-PANT/SS fiber to aromatic amines were examined using headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with GC-MS. The key parameters influencing extraction efficiency were optimized, including extraction temperature, extraction time and solution acidity. Under the optimized condition, a linear relationship was found between the peak areas and the mass fraction of the 12 aromatic amines in definite ranges, with the lower limit of determination (10S/N) in the range of 0.003 7-0.093 3 mg·kg-1. The method was used to determine aromatic amines in textile samples, giving results in consistent with those obtained by the standard method.
