HPLC Determination of Bisphenol A in Food Packing Materials

    • The sample (2.000 0 g) was extracted ultrasonically for 60 min with 50 mL of methanol, and the extract was diluted to 100 mL with water, and filtered through microporous membrane of 0.22 μm. The solution was then separated by HPLC using Agilent Eclipse plus C18 chromatographic column as stationary phase and a mixture of 50 mmol·L-1 citrate buffer solution (pH 6.0)-methanol (45+55) as mobile phase. The detection cell voltages of electrochemical detector were 400 mV (ECD1) and 575 mV (ECD2). Linear relationship between values of peak area and mass concentration of bisphenol A was found in the range of 0.2-20.0 μg·L-1, with detection limit (3S/N) of 3.3 μg·kg-1. Test for recovery was made by standard addition at 3 concentration levels, giving results in the range of 95.6%-98.2%, with RSDs (n=5) ranged from 2.1% to 5.3%.
