Abstract
In the ICP-MS determination of 21 elements (including Li, Be, B, Al, Ti, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and etc.) in high purity iron, the matrix effect of iron at various concentration levels on MS signal intensities of the testing elements was studied. As shown by the results, when the mass concentrations of iron were within 40 mg·L-1, values of relative signal intensities of the testing elements were found to keep linear relationships with the mass concentration of matrix iron, as the mass concentration of matrix iron was increased to 400 mg·L-1, inhibitory action of iron on MS signal intensities of the testing elements, except Mn and Co, was observed. Through the matrix effect analysis of internal standard elements, the internal standard elements having similar matrix effect with the analyst elements were selected to correct the matrix effect.
