Abstract
GC-MS/MS was applied to the simultaneous determination of 15 phthalic acid esters in cigarette water-borne adhesives. The sample of cigarette water-borne adhesive (0.300 g) was dispersed with 2 mL of water, and then extracted with 10 mL of n-hexane for 5 min. The DB-35MS chromatographic column was used for GC separation and the multiple reaction monitoring mode was adopted in MS determination. Linear relationships between values of peak area and mass concentration of the 15 phthalic acid esters were all kept in the same range of 0.05-5.0 mg·L-1, with detection limits (3S/N) in the range of 0.006-0.027 μg·g-1. Tests for recovery were made by standard addition method at the concentration levels of 4, 20, 100 μg·g-1, giving values of recovery and RSD's (n=6) in the ranges of 87.8%-104% and 1.3%-6.1% respectively.
