    • An overview on the commonly used quantitative analysis methods for monosaccharide and disaccharide was presented, including gravimetric method, titration, optical rotation, colorimetry, thin layer chromatography scanning, near infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectoscopy, gas chromatography, gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrometry, ion chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, et al. The characteristics, application and the research progress of each method were introduced, and the development prospect was discussed (57 ref. cited).
