    GC-MS Determination of 12 Volatile Organic Compounds in Foamed Mattresses of Polyurethane with Thermal Desorption

    • GC-MS was applied to the determination of 12 volatile organic compounds in foamed mattresses of polyurethane with thermal desorption. Indoor environment was simulated with environmental climate box of volatile organic compounds, and volatile organic compounds released were collected by adsorption tubes containing Tenax TA. The DB-5MS capillary chromatographic column was used for GC separation and the full scanning mode was adopted in MS determination. Linear relationships between values of peak area and mass of the 12 volatile organic compounds were kept in definite ranges, with detection limit (3S/N) of 1.0 μg·m-3. Values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 84.3%-106%, and values of RSDs (n=6) in the range of 8.0%-9.8%.
