    Spectrophotometric Determination of Pazufloxacin Mesylate in Lyophilized Powder Injections and Eye Drops

    • In HNO3 solution, the orange-yellow coordination compound of Fe(Ⅲ) and pazufloxacin mesilate was formed at room temperature, having its absorption maximum at the wavelength of 470 nm. Spectrophotometry was applied to the determination of pazufloxacin mesylate in lyophilized powder injections and eye drops. Linear relationship between values of absorbance and mass concentration of pazufloxacin mesilate was obtained in the range of 3.0-540.0 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3s/k) of 0.88 mg·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of samples of lyophilized powder injection and eye drop, giving values of recovery found by standard addition method and RSDs (n=5) of determined values in the ranges of 96.8%-101% and 1.3%-1.4% respectively.
