    Detection of Pioglitazone and Rosiglitazone Illegally Added in Health Care Foodstuffs by Nano-Gold Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

    • The method of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy technique combining with the simple sample pre-treatment process was developed for detecting rosiglitazone and pioglitazone illegally added in health care foodstuffs. Self-prepared nano-gold was used as a surface-enhancing agent. Effect of different acidity, different acid species, different nano-gold and other factors on detection results of rosiglitazone maleate and pioglitazone hydrochloride was investigated. The results showed that under the same acidity condition, better enhancement effect was obtained when hydrochloric acid was used as a support agent as compared with nitric acid and sulfuric acid, while nearly equivalent enhancement effect was obtained when the latter 2 acids was used as a support agent. At the same support agent, better surface enhancement effect was attained with stronger acidity. Lower amount of sodium citrate as reducing agent was used for synthesis of nano-gold, better enhancement effect was found. 0.012 5 mg·L-1 of rosiglitazone and 0.025 mg·L-1 of pioglitazone can be detected by the proposed method of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
