Abstract
The sample of coke oven gas was collected with aluminum foil bag and gas displaced for 5 min. Under the pyrolysis temperature of 870℃ and oxygen flow rate of 2.0 L·min-1, sulfur in the sample was completely burned into sulfur dioxide, and the intensity of sulfur dioxide was determined by ultraviolet fluorescence detector. A determination method of total sulfur in coke oven gas by ultraviolet fluorescence method was established. Linearity range of sulfur was found between 50.0 mg·m-3 and 500.0 mg·m-3 with detection limit (3s/k) of 5.32 mg·m-3. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of the samples of coke oven gas, giving values of RSDs (n=11) of determined values in the range of 0.69%-1.4%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of synthetic samples of standard gas, giving results in consistency with the theoretical values.
