Recent Advances of Methods for Determination of Chlorine in Geological Samples

A review on the research progress of methods for determination of chlorine in geological samples and also methods for the sample pretreatment during last decade was given in this paper. The methods of sample pretreatment, including extraction, alkali fusion, semi-melting, steam distillation, pyrohydrolysisand etc.; and methods of determination, including photometry, ion-selective electrode, ion chromatography, XRF, AAS, ICP-AES, ICP-MS, neutron activation and etc. were expounded. A brief prospect of future progress in this field was also given (91 ref. cited).
