    ICP-MS Determination of 13 Elements in Industrial Pure Iron

    • The industrial pure iron sample was digested with hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid using microwave. The digestion solution was diluted to 100.0 mL with water. ICP-MS was applied to the determination of 13 elements, i.e. B, Mg, Ca, Ti, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zr, Nb, Sn, Sb, Pb and Bi in the above solution.Internal standard method was used for quantitative. Linearity ranges of the 13 elements were found in the same range of 0.000 10%-0.015 00% with detection limits (3s) in the range of 0.24-0.66 μg·L-1. Test for recovery was performed by standard addition method, giving values of recovery in the range of 84.0%-106%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of pure iron standard samples (GBW 01401b, GBW 01402g, SRM 2167, and YSBC 11247-2007), giving results in consistency with the certified values with RSDs (n=6) in the range of 0.80%-9.6%.
