    Determination of 16 Impurity Elements in Holmium- Ferro Alloy by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry

    • In order to solve the problem about not being able to simultaneously determine rare earth elements and other elements in holmium-ferro alloy samples, the study mentioned by title was proposed. 0.100 0 g of holmium-ferro alloy sample was taken into a 150 mL-beaker, and 10 mL of water and 10 mL of hydrochloric acid were added. The mixture was heated at 300 ℃ until the sample was completely dissolved, and the solution was made its volume up to 100 mL after cooling. The 16 impurity elements including Gd, Tb, Dy, Er, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Ca, Mg, Al, Mn, Ni and Ti were determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), and the spectral interference of a large number of Ho and Fe elements in the alloy material to the elements to be tested was eliminated by the matrix matching method. As shown by the results, linear relationships between the corresponding spectral line intensity and mass concentration of 16 elements were found in definite ranges, with detection limits (3s) in the range of 0.01-0.32 μg·L-1. Test for recovery was made by standard addition method, giving results in the range of 90.0%-115%, with RSDs (n=6) of the determined values less than 7.0%.
