Determination of 10 Aroma Components in Rose Water by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry with Ultrasound Assisted Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction

    • A method was proposed for the determination of aroma components of linalool, citronellol acetate, geranyl acetate, citronellol, nerol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, phenethyl alcohol, methyl eugenol, and eugenol in rose water by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with ultrasound assisted dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction. The 7.0 mL of rose water sample was taken, and the dispersive microextraction solution containing 400 μL of acetonitrile and 200 μL of dichloromethane was added. After vortex for 1 min, ultrasound for 3 min and centrifugation for 3 min, all lower precipitates were collected, and injected the gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer. Using HP-INNOWAX chromatographic column as the stationary phase, 10 aroma components were separated under programmed temperature conditions, ionized by electron impact ion source, and quantified by the external standard method. It was shown that linear relationships between values of the mass concentration and the peak area of 10 aroma components were kept in definites ranges, with detection limits (3S/N) in the range of 0.050-0.078 mg · L−1. According to the standard addition method, test for recovery was made, giving recoveries in the range of 79.8%-114%, and RSDs (n=6) of the determined values in the range of 2.1%-9.6%.
