Abstract
Diuretics are a type of drug clinically used to treat diseases such as heart failure and hypertension, and play an important role in the medical field. Their application in sports has also attracted much attention. In some weight requirements competition events, athletes may use diuretics to achieve rapid dehydration or take diuretics before doping tests to mask other prohibited substances in urine. Additionally, the diuretics residues in animal-derived foods and dietary supplements (such as weight loss products) may cause adverse reactions in consumers after consumption and pose a threat to their health. Hence, developing effective detection methods for diuretics is crucial. The types, representative substances, and action mechanisms of diuretics were reviewed, the characteristics of current pretreatment methods and determination methods for diuretics at home and abroad were summarized, and their future development direction was prospected, to provide theoretical reference for the research on diuretic detection and the improvement and establishment of relevant standards in the future (65 ref. cited).
