    ICP-AES Determination of Trace Amounts of Elements in High-Purity Titanium

    • Optimum conditions of determination of 14 trace-elements in high-purity titanium by ICP-AES were studied.Working curves with two standard points method were used in the determination.Titanium sample was dissolved in HCl-H2SO4 mixed acid and Ti(Ⅲ) in the solution was oxidized to Ti(Ⅳ) by H2O2.The sample solution was evaporated to dryness to precipitate the matrix as TiO2,which was separated by filtration from a dil.nitric acid solution (1+2) and trace amounts of the elements were determined by ICP-AES in the filtrate.Detection limits (3S) of the 14 elements were found in the range of 5×10-4-1.5×10-2mg·L-1,and recoveries were in the range of 97.5%-113.4%.
