    IC Determination of Anions in Bottled Water

    • The contents of 7 anions in bottled water were determined by ion chromatography (IC). The Ion Pac AG14 protective column and Ion Pac AS14 separation column were used for separation, and a mixture of solutions of 3.5 mmol·L-1 Na2CO3 and 1.0 mmol·L-1 NaHCO3 was used as eluant. Inhibitory conductivity detection was adopted in the determination. Linearity was found in ranges of 0.05-1.20 for F- and 0.80-3.00 mg·L-1 for PO43-, and linearity for Cl-、NO2-、Br-、NO3- and SO42- was found to be in the same range of 0.20-4.80 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3S/N) in the range of 0.025-0.126 mg·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the determination of the 7 anions in bottled water, values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 92.8%-102.0%, and RSD′s (n=7) were less than 4.0%.
