    GC Determination of Trimethyl Tin Chloride in Plastic Food Packaging Material

    • The content of trimethyl tin chloride in plastic food packaging material was determined by GC with electron capture detector (ECD). Sample was extracted with ethyl acetate and separated on J&W DB-17 capillary column (30 m×0.25 mm, 0.25 μm). Linear relationship between values of peak area and mass concentration of trimethyl tin chloride was obtained in the range of 0.334-26.76 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3s) of 0.000 6 mg·L-1. Test for recovery was made by standard addition method, giving results in the range of 77.6%-83.3%. Values of RSD′s (n=6) found were in the range of 2.5%-4.6%.
