FAAS Determination of Iron in Chromium Plating Bath

The sample solution was fumed with HClO4 and treated with conc.HCl to expel Cr(Ⅵ) as CrO2Cl2 and iron(Ⅲ) remained in the solution was determined by FAAS.Under the optimum working conditions of the instrument,linear relationship between values of mass concentration and absorbance of Fe was obtained in the range within 10.0 mg·L-1,with detection limit (3s) of 0.019 4 mg·L-1.Values of recovery were found in the range of 98.0%-102.8%,and RSD (n=8) found was 0.76%.
