    ATR-FTIR Determination of Limonene in Orange Oil

    • FTIR with attenuated total reflection (ATR-FTIR) was applied to the determination of limonene in orange oil. The characteristic peak of limonene at (1 645.1±1) cm-1 was chosen as the quantitative peak, and the process of analytical sample was finished within 15 min. Linear relationship between values of peak height and volume fraction of limonene was kept in the range of 9.60%-76.8%. On the base of the sample of orange oil, test for recovery was made by standard addition method; values of recovery found were in the range of 99.7%-101%, with RSD (n=5) of 1.1%.
