GAS CHROMATOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF VOLATILE HALOGEN SUBSTITUTED HYDROCARBONS IN SILTY WATER

Gas chromatography with ECD was applied to the determination of volatile halogen substituted hydrocarbons in silty water samples of the Yellow River.Puffing and trapping technique was used in the sample pretreatment.Saturated solution of sodium chloride was chosen as dectrolyte in the determination to lower the solubility of the halogen substituted hydrocarbons and hence to raise the sensitivity of the determination.Under the optimized condition of the method proposed,4 halogenohydrocarbons were satisfactorily separated and the detection limit obtained were in the range of 0.01-0.20 μg·L-1.Results of recovery test found were in the range of 95.0%-103.0%.
