    RP-HPLC Determination of Resveratrol in TCM Polygonum Cuspidatum

    • RP-HPLC was applied to the determination of resveratrol in polygonum cuspidatum. The ODS-C18 column (200 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used as stationary phase, and a mixture of CH3CH2OH and H2O (2+3) was used as mobile phase. The content of resveratrol was determined by UV-detection at 304 nm. Linear relationship between values of peak area and mass concentration of resveratrol was kept in the range of 0.05-0.40 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3S/N) of 10 μg·L-1. The proposed method was used in the determination of resveratrol in polygonum cuspidatum, giving values of average recovery obtained by standard addition method of 98.5% and RSD (n=5) of 2.6%.
