    AAS Determination of Zinc in Samples of Complex System by Extraction with Dithizone and Ionic Liquid

    • The ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazoliumhexafluorophosphate, and the complexing reagent, dithizone were used to extract zinc(Ⅱ) from samples of complex system and content of zinc in the sample was determined by AAS. Wavelength selected for determination was 516 nm. Linear relationship between values of absorbance and mass concentration of zinc(Ⅱ) was obtained in the range of 0.1-2.0 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3s/k) of 0.69 μg·L-1.The proposed method was applied to the analysis of drug sample of zinc sulfate oral solution, giving results in consistency with the values obtained by pharmacopoeia method. Test for recovery was performed by standard addition method, giving values of recovery in the range of 98.5%-101% with RSD′s (n=5) in the range of 1.9%-2.8%.
