    Simultaneous Determination of Manganese and Nickel by Spectrophotometry with Aritificial Neural Network Algorithm

    • Manganese(Ⅱ) and nickel(Ⅱ) were determined simultaneously by spectrophotometry using formaldoxime (FMX) as color reagent. Serious over-lapping of the spectra of complexes of Mn(Ⅱ)-FMX and Ni(Ⅱ)-FMX was resolved by using the algorithm of artificial neural network (ANN). In application of the proposed method to the simultaneous determination of Mn(Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) in industrial waste water,values of recovery in the range of 95%-102% were obtained.
