Application of the Dynamic Trimagnetic Field-Zeeman Effect Background Correction to GF-AAS Determination of Lead in Blood Samples

    • The dynamic tri-magnetic field-Zeeman effect background correction was applied to the GFAAS determination of lead in blood samples, resulting an extension of linearity range of determination from within 100 μg·L-1 to within 800 μg·L-1.It was proposed that the bi-magnetic field background correction was preferred when the contents of lead determined were less than 80 μg·L-1 under dynamic condition, while the tri-magnetic field background correction mode was preferred for mass concentration of lead in the range of 80-800 μg·L-1.Values of characteristic quantity of the method were found to be 29.4 pg (in case of the bi-magnetic field mode) and 10.7 pg (in case of the tri-magnetic field mode). The proposed method was satisfactorily applied to the analysis of blood samples with lead contents of high concentration without the necessity of dilution, and the problems of appearance of Zeeman inversion in determination of high concentration constituents and of double-peaking effect in absorption signals were solved.
