    Test of Performance Property of Macroporous Strongly Basic Anion Exchange Resins By FI-Spectrometry

    • A FIA manifold was designed and photometric determination of chloride ion with the color reagent containing Hg(SCN)2 and Fe(NO3)3 was used in the testing for the performance property of strongly basic anion exchange resins of macroporosity.A micro ionexchange column was incroporated in the FIA manifold,and the resin sample was filled into the column.Dilute hydrochloric acid solution with definite concentration was used as testing solution and passed through the exchange column.Chloride concentration in effluentsobtained at the outlet of the exchange column was determined continuously.Based on the data of chloride concentrations found,factors affecting the performance property,including concentration of testing solution and re-generant as well as the flow-rate etc.,were determined.The optimum conditions found were as follows: ① size of ion-exchange column: length 57 nm,i.d. 3.0 mm;② height of resin layer: 40 mm;③ amount of resin taken: 0.172 0 g;④ concn.of re-generant: 30 g·L-1 with flow-rate of 0.6 mL·min-1;⑤ volume of regerant used: 433 mL;⑥ testing solution: 20 mg·L-1 chloride solution (HCl solution),with flow-rate of 1.3 mL·min-1.
