    Determination of Patulin in Apple and Hawthorn Products by High Performance Liquid Chromatography

    • An HPLC method for the determination of patulin in apple and hawthorn products was proposed and reported in this paper.Patulin in sample was extracted by ethyl acetate,the extract was purified with Na2CO3 and followed by HPLC determination.Composition of eluant and wavelength for detection wavelength were tested and optimized so that interferences of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) was eliminated.Recovery of the method was in range of 95.2%-107.1%.Detection limit (3S/N) was 0.04 mg·L-1 and linearity of calibration curve was ranged in 0.14-2.8 mg·L-1 of patulin.
