    ICP-MS Determination of Aluminium in Wheaten Foods

    • Samples of wheaten food were pretreated in two modes of digestion,i.e.the microwave digestion and digestion under normal pressure.The sample solution obtained after dilution was analyzed by ICP-MS using Sc as internal standard.Linearity range of Al was obtained between 10.0-250.0 μg·L-1,with detection limit (3s) of 3.75 μg·L-1 and lower limit of determination (10 s) of 12.5 μg·L-1.It was found that accuracy and precision of results obtained by both the digestion methods were equally satisfactory.Values of recovery and RSD′s (n=8) found were in the range of 84.4%-101.2%,3.0%-7.1% by microwave digestion,and 85.7%-95.5%,3.4%-6.6% by digestion under normal pressure.
