Solid Phase Synthesis of N-(4-Hydroxyphenylmethylene)-p-Methoxyaniline at Room Temperature and Its Characterization

N-(4-hydroxyphenylmethylene)-p-methoxy aniline was synthesized in one step by the reaction between p-methoxyaniline and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde at solid state and under room temperature (30 ℃).The reaction was finished within 15 min,giving a yield of 93%.The product was characterized by elementary analysis,infrared spectrometry,X-ray diffraction spectrographic method (powder method) and 1H NMR.
