HPLC Determination of m-Methoxy Thiophenol

HPLC was applied to the determination of m-methoxy thiophenol.The sample was dissolved with acetonitrile,and separated on Eclipse XDB-C8 column (150 mm×6 mm,5 μm) with a mixture of acetonitrile-water (60+40) as mobile phase.The contents of m-methoxy thiophenol and its impurities (m-methoxy phenol and m-methoxy thiophenol disulfide) were determined at the wavelength of 254 nm with external standard method.Values of detection limits (3S/N) of these three compounds were found to be 0.51,0.48,0.50 mg·L-1,with values of RSD′s (n=6) and recovery in the range of 0.03%-1.77% and 98.1%-100.5%.
