Abstract
Distribution constants of the color reagents, methyl violet (MV) and crystal violet (CV) of the O/W systems between cationic, anionic or non-ionic microemulsion and water, and the O/W systems between the respective micelles and water were determined by spectrophotometry. The solubilization of MV and CV by microemulsion was studied. It was shown that as compared with the respective micelles, higher solubilization of MV and CV was attained by the microemulsions. Influences of types of micro-emulsions, differences in molecular structures of the 2 color reagents and acidity (pH-values) of the partition phases on the solubilization were explained.
