Abstract
In a solution of 0.84 mol·L-1 HCl,a sensitive color reaction between Ge(Ⅳ) and the reaction system of phenylfluorone-Tween-80-gelatin was observed. The non-ionic surfactant,Tween-80 acted as a solubilizing and sensitizing agent, and the gelatin acted as a stabilizing agent in the reaction system.Absorption maxima of the colored coordination complex was found at 510 nm,with a molar absorptivity of 1.18×105L·mol-1·cm-1.Beer′s law was obeyed in the concentration range of 0.5-10 μg per 50 mL of solution. The interferences of some commonly encountered ions were tested, and the selectivity was satisfactory for its application to the determination of Ge(Ⅳ) in human hair samples, where the RSD′s obtained were less than 0.9%,and the recoveries found were in the range of 95.9% to 105.9%.
